Hai Duong city meets I grade urban criteria

On April 18, Deputy Minister of Construction Phan Thi My Linh presided over the appraisal meeting to recognize Hai Duong city as the urban criteria of I grade. Urban evaluation council agreed to judge the scheme. reached 90.47 points.

The construction and development of Hai Duong City to become a I grade city is also in line with the National Urban Development Program of Hai Duong Province and suitable to the urban development situation after 10 years of construction and development from II grade urban criteria (2009).

The Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Anh Cuong pledged that the People's Committee of the province and city would seriously receive comments and amendments to soon complete the uncompleted standards. He hopes the city would be appraised fully and carefully.

On behalf of the Appraisal Council, Deputy Minister of Construction Phan Thi My Linh summed up the opinions and comments and announced the proposal to recognize Hai Duong city as a grade I urban standard with a score of 90.47.

The appraisal committee highly appreciated some activities of Hai Duong city in recent years such as building infrastructure, increasing per capita income, high economic growth, especially water supply and drainage programs. However, the Council was very concerned about the city not meeting the road density standards in the inner city and greenery areas of the whole city, although the pressure and density of the city in the locality is not too high.

The Deputy Minister finally asked the Urban Development Agency to work with Hai Duong City and the consulting unit to finalize and complete relevant comments and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval.
