AWCH's meeting on International Women's Day

On 29th March, ASEAN Community Women's Circle of Hanoi (AWCH) and MOFA's Women Committee organized a meeting to celebrate International Women's Day. This event is a chance to creater greater ties and friendship between international women diplomats and Vietnam, to glorify the intelligence beauty and the creativity of women in the digital age. It is also an occasion to showcase to international friends the quintessence of Vietnam's culture and the delicacy of Vietnam's art.

Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga, Spouse of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Honourary President of AWCH hosted the meeting with the participants of Ambassadors, Charge d’Affaires, Spouses, Head of International Organizations and Diplomats working in Hanoi.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sent the most beautiful flowers and the best wishes to all the Diplomats and Spouses on International Women’s Day.

This is the first time MOFA collaborate with AWCH and Gender Equality Coordinating Committee in Hanoi to host this event to increase exchanges and connections between Vietnam’s diplomats and international friends in Hanoi.

This activity is also to tighten solidarity and to strengthen collaboration between ASEAN and other contries as well as international organizations, which addresses to the preparation of Vietnam taking on the ASEAN chairmanship in 2020.

In her opening speech, Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga congratulated all women on the International Women’s Day.

Ambassador highly appreciates the idea of hosting this meaningful event, to creater greater ties and friendship between international women diplomats and Vietnam, to glorify the intelligence beauty and the creativity of women in the digital age. It is also an occasion to showcase to international friends the quintessence of Vietnam’s culture and the delicacy of Vietnam’s art.

Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga hopes that all ambassadors, head of diplomatic missions and diplomats continue to cooperate closely , accompany with Vietnam in international integration and gender equality advancement.

As a co-president of Gender Equality Coordinating Committee, Mrs. Maria Jesus Figa Lopez-Palop, Ambassador of Spain to Vietnam, highly appreciate MOFA and AWCH’s initiative of this event.

Mrs. Maria Jesus Figa Lopez-Palop expressed her admiration on the beauty of Vietnam’s culture and the talent of Vietnamese women in weaving, broidering and making Ao Dai and jewelry. She also shared the efforts of Gender Equality Coordinating Committee in supporting Vietnamese women; and promised to continue supporting Vietnam in promoting development and gender equality in the future.

On this ocassion, Jewelry designer Mrs. Thu Huong and Ao Dai designer Mrs. Lan huong, those of best designers in Vietnam, introduced to international friends the art of weaving silk and making handmade pearl jewelry of Vietnam.

Variety of traditional Ao Dai designs were introduced to international friends.

The appearance of kids models surprised the audiences because of their ability to perform and introduce all the Vietnamese products.

The guests captured the moment from the perfomance.

Through the Ao Dai and jewelry perfomance, two designers promotedVietnam’s extraordinary craftmanship that are both traditional and modern.
